Each air show site's production team has the opportunity to nominate individuals who are outstanding in their community, for a ride with the Blue Angels in recognition of their efforts to make their community a better place.
Coach Steve Trimper caught the attention of ASN by the way he teaches his players to have a spirit of achievement both on and off the field and challenges each individual to take action with servant-like leadership to make the world a better place by “becoming a doer.”
Coach Trimer is a champion Head Baseball Coach at Stetson University, but his greatest accomplishment is in the dozens of new community influencers among the players that he molds on his team. Coach Trimper has established an organizational culture of excellence with great emphasis of service to community.
Since his arrival at Stetson three years ago, Coach has established several on going events in the local Central Florida area that fundraise for community programs. As head coach for the Hatters, Coach leads his team to connect with and inspire children and adults who suffer from major illness and disabilities. Here are a few of the many examples of how he creates a culture of excellency within the local community that led our team to nominate him for a ride:
After reviewing nominations for the show, Coach Trimper was selected by the Blue Angels as the "Key Influencer" for The Great Florida Air Show. He handled it like a champ, although he may have taken an in-flight nap (check out the video below).
“I feel like Mike Tyson [former champion boxer] right now,” he said, wobbling a bit on his first few steps back on land. “We did loops; we did turns; we did Mach 1; we were going straight down toward the water. And I only blacked out once. So, I’m pretty proud of myself. It was awesome. What a lifetime experience for me.” - Steve Trimper.
Subsequent to his ride, videos on @AirShowNetwork instagram garnered over 15M views highlighting his experience.
