Super Bowl Sunday is more than just a football game, it’s also a sign that the highly anticipated Air Show season is right around the corner. While in the winter as we are missing the energy of being on the tarmac and feeling the thunder of jet noise overhead, the Super Bowl flyover gives us a perfect reminder of the excitement that Air Show season brings.
From the Blue Angels to the Thunderbirds, stealth fighters to heritage warbirds, here’s a look back at the last 10 Super Bowl flyovers and what made each one unforgettable.

Commemorating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Marines, the F-35B Lightning II and MV-22 Osprey took to the skies over the Big Easy.
While a flyover can’t showcase the full extent of what these aircraft can do, aviation fans know just how unique they truly are.
The F-35B and the Osprey may look and sound completely different, but they share one incredible capability: vertical takeoff. And luckily for us, that’s something we can witness up close during Air Show season!
Super Bowl LIX: Philadelphia Eagles 40, Kansas City Chiefs 22.

Smoke on, ready now. Las Vegas is all about spectacle and the Thunderbirds understood the assignment. With red, white and blue fireworks and the Las Vegas Strip in the background, the Team proudly kicked off the big game with an iconic flyover in their hometown.

We'll give this one A-10 out of 10. Actually it was so good, we'll give it two A-10 out 10's because this flyover had two A-10 Demo Team jets, the F-16 Viper Demo Team with "Rain" Waters, and a P-51 leading the formation.
